it's alright. brain candy. i liked the idea of like a special forces group specifically for highly violent organized crime but it seems it has quickly gone to like, we need to stop a coup in Africa lol

honestly, i'm loving this

yeah i kinda see what other reviewers mean about it being pulpy with some ridiculous dialogue but it's a lot of fun. Macro and Cato's relationship is entertaining

honestly, if you took the jedi out of this it would be fairly decent mili-sci/fi

god, this book is taking me forever lol

the world is really cool and self realized - but the whole lord of the flies thing is not that interesting to me, i keep putting it down and no real pull to finish it. tho i do enjoy it in the moment

i just wanna finish it and hopefully the sequels will hold my attention more

So it's pretty good. I did find that the slang and also the weird hyphened names for stuff was kinda confusing.

It's hard for me to really like... I get the inciting incident but it does feel like it comes out so strong that Eo is a revolutionary. She's political before, darrow says so, but their whole argument is like darrow has never heard it before. It was weird to me

I am enjoying this A LOT

However, and this is not assuming or implying anything about the author's own views on sex work
But the main characters chauvinism regarding sex work and a particular courtesan character is especially grating. If the rest of the book wasn't so entertaining for me I would simply close it and give it away
