I watched the movie, so ik the 'plot twist' everyone talked about. The scene with Patrick in the book feels way different and makes more sense (knowing ahead). During the movie I thought Charlie was too taken aback and that's why he didn't pull away, because it was just a single, one kiss

The way Humbert describes Dolorez when he first sees her is so yucky. Seriously how can anyone read this to be a love story

It's only been 2 chapters- and even though I'm reading a translated version, I really like Nabokov's writing style. I haven't read almost any books from the 20s-60s. Definitely need to start reading more 20th century classics
