A good read about one important general during WWII in the Pacific who did his job exceptionally well.
Some large passages that will only be of interest to military types but a window on poorly recognized battles in New Guinea and the Philippines as well as a section on occupied Japan. A subject we all need to learn more about: The conversion overnight of feudal Japan to a modern democracy!
