this already feels like another 5 star read… OMG

i went in thinking this was going to be a silly gen z book w/ simple prose, but miss via is a full on AUTHORESS. not only is she clearly intelligent, but she’s also incredibly witty and a talented writer. it is no surprise to hear that her first “concert” was a joan didion Q&A.

so much has already transpired within just 34 pages. joan didion is the most articulate and introspective author i’ve ever read. the way she depicts grief makes me feel not only seen, but incredibly understood. i can already tell this book will cement her as my favorite author.

a slow burn… i’m already a third into the book and not much is happening. also, the author’s use of imagery is overkill. the party scene was camp though and was very eve babitz coded.

i’m really enjoying the book so far, but the most recent revelation has me worrying that the ending will be predictable… but i’m going to give the author the benefit of the doubt… TBD!!!
