I have been struggling with this one for almost three months. It feels inarticulate (ik it’s because it was written by an “adolescent “). And I know how Arkady feels, I’ve been there along time ago. Now I feel more relatable to Versilove and the widow with the questionable reputation. It just doesn’t hit like the idiot or Dostoyevsky’s other major works. Maybe I haven’t got to the conclusion yet

Home alone and narrating the great story to the ghosts who lurk in the shadows of the library. Alas, they don’t have a narrator with clear voice that doesn’t crack with sobs and eyes that doesn’t blur with tears.

I was just reading chapter 15 and wondering why do girls start to be so low maintenance when they like a guy. And then I started wondering about a completely different thing, (I’ve read about the Brontë sister’s life) I was wandering about how wild their writing was, and the sort of life that makes the mind fly out of its senses in such a unique and beautiful way.
May I summarize it all with: WTF!

I got the paper pack and I am reading it from the start, after nearly two years pause. And I still relate, maybe even more. I think in the past two years I’ve become more introspective and self aware that I’m not just reading an entry aged more than 70 years, I’m reading my life through Sylvia’s pen. Entry 36 from the first journal destroyed me, cause what I couldn’t fathom in me had been described in it.

I can’t help but feel sorry for Mrs Reeds, the way she thought that she was doing the right thing to fulfill her duty in raising and providing for that kid and for her own kids, maybe she was disciplined in that way, maybe she thought it was the right way to discipline a "naughty" child, but she ended up hated by a kid and she traumatized Jane for life. Must’ve been ugly when she realized that she fucked up.

Tips for when you read Jane eyre:
Go to you room, close the door and sit on the floor beside the bed, sit with ur knees folded toward your chest, rest the book on your knees. it has to be the floor, no one can handle the heart sink you feel with every word if you sit somewhere higher than the ground.

Dostoevsky did it again, suddenly passing the middle of the book you get struck by the protagonist’s deepest darkest secret and you feel like your so deep in it, like youre possessed just as much as he is.

My walk of shame back to the book I thought I disliked beyond finishing

Well, I started reading it 2 months ago go, and not until now did I feel the pull.

not gonna finish it, I can do better things with my time.

Well, it was a good decision to give this book another chance after judging it so early. I admit, I hated the main character (now I hate her less).
I shouldn’t be so excited to see the downfall of a main character.

I give it another chance

It’s boring with ridiculously long words, am I gonna change my mind? Is it gonna be one of my abandoned books?
