I couldn’t resist borrowing this book from the local library

This was a random selection from BorrowBox. I've only read one book by Margaret Atwood (Handmaid's Tale, which I found quite depressive), but I'm now quite curious to try some other fiction by her.

"Do you write yourself?" I asked and she shook her head.
"No, I wouldn't be able" she said "I don't have the imagination. I'm a reader, pure and simple."

Trying this as an audiobook

Bookclub choice for debut novel

I couldn’t resist picking it up as it came for a visit at my home.

‘ Tonight’s play (…) is loosely based on the Salem with trials’
And unintentionally, here I am reading again a book where witches are mentioned.

Chapter 8, witch hunting here as well!

Third (and last!) attempt at this one.

I’d tried this one a few months ago (on audio format) and my brain couldn’t focus. Second try lucky!! I’m so invested now that I wish I had more time for listening!!

Alice has just met Margaret (The Tabloid Princess) face to face for the first time and thinks "She's shrunk a few inches..." - how could she ever know that??

Let’s see if I can suspend my disbelief until the end of the book…

Listening to the audiobook - it was a shock (not negative!) to return to British accent in audiobooks!

Finished Book 2. There’s a bit of a cliffhanger both for Tengo and Aomame, but I need a quick break to read something lighter!

Finished Book 1 and it was so so so good!! But there is no closure, so after a short interlude I'll carry on with Book 2.

Here we go into the last audiobook of this series!!

Narrated by the author!

Since I discovered the concept of mudlarking in one of Sharon Bolton’s books I’ve been really curious about it (and even had a look on the Thames shore). So when I’ve found Lara Maiklem’s books in the topic, I’ve decided to give them a try!
This audiobook is read by the author (and that’s a plus!)

I need something that is not too challenging for my tired brain and this came recommended by a very reliable source!

A book about a children’s librarian? I am in!

It’s summer, it’s time for some light reading :P

I’ve hit a bit of a reading slump and need something light & easy!
“… the only professional advice I’m qualified to give about being eco-conscious is to support your local library” <3

3rd book in a series of 6. These have become my safe port for audio!
