Breezing through this novella. Read all of this last night before bed and wanted to finish but fell asleep. I suspect I'll finish this during lunch this afternoon. PTSD Grappo is a great character.

I'll probably finish this up either tonight or tomorrow.

Good stuff. The story takes what was best about the O.G. trilogy and enhances it: the pacing, the law and order, the horror-necromancer stuff and the dynamic between Bressinger and Vonvalt.

First time I'm reading a solo Janny Wurts novel and tbh I had to get into it at first but now her writing completely envelops me.

I still don't really have a feel for the overall story. I feel like this is just a prologue to the actual story, setting up characters and plotlines for future novels. That said, I am entertained and enjoy Rohan as an MC.

This is incredible. Layers upon layers upon twists & turns, it's obvious that this was thought out from the start.
