Well, overall the author's point is pretty clear and she has some generally fairly witty ways to state said point. However, the whole argument is (as others have pointed out) really repetitive and somewhat unorganized when it comes to male vs. female dress. I also found that there were way too many Freudian arguments where examples of primary sources would have really really helped.

Well, over all, it is well written and informative so far. But, why do all these kinds of books need to go into graphic detail about flaying and partial burning alive before flaying. Ugh.

Easy to drop in and out of, quirky tidbits of history. Not chronological, really, or by any means all-inclusive, but its definitely a fun read.
