nothing more insane to me than reading books like this because they'll be like "we started this thing because we saw a need!" and then you look them up and not only are they still going, but they're actually still successfully living their mission thirty years later :,)

yall this book is wILD i love gay people drama

this is such an effortless read and yet it’s so unlike anything i’ve ever read - vaguely reminiscent of hosseini except not at all

taking this so so slowly but wow…real scared this will be devastating

fully respect this narrator bc this is a beast of a book to read for audio but oh my god she keeps mispronouncing names and i speaking with such weird pauses and it is really getting to me

nobody talks about needle exchange!!! but act up did that!!!!

i could listen to the new york stock exchange demonstration story every day of my life and never get bored of it

have to say, i hate the structure to this because it seems structureless but it has already made me cry and i do love how inclusive sarah set out to be

and i am just now remembering oh yes, sachsenhausen is actually the camp that i toured in berlin okay.

okay folks i have started like a dozen books in the last month and nothing is really sticking but yes i am rereading the foxhole court and i did start the 27hr audio for another aids book and also i'm technically trying to read XX which i've left unfinished for five years. so. stay tuned. i'm in hell.

it's so crazy how you can slog through a first half and then the second half of a book can completely change your opinion on the story and characters and writing...fascinating...still not five stars yet but definitely going up towards 4!
