this book is ending me omggg, I’m really enjoying it so far!

the discussions between margaret and mr thornton on the industrial working class are reminding me a lot of levin’s ramblings about the peasants in anna karenina

guess who’s finally reading jane austen!! (may or may not have been inspired to give it another try because of the other bennet sister tv show). anyways wow I have no idea why I had such an aversion to jane austen novels before this…amazing stuff.

going through my read books shelf and seeing “rtc”’s from like 2022…safe to say I don’t think those reviews are coming !!

reading these love letters is becoming exhausting, can the plot please progress 😂

started this a while ago and got about halfway through, but had to return my copy to the library :(

the further I progress into this novel, the more I realise how egregious the upcoming movie is…

this is definitely the olden-day equivalent of a serialised turkish drama with an episode released every week and here I am, binging the whole entire thing.

now who in the WORLD starts a 1000+ page book while there are only 15 days left of the year and she requires 5 books to reach her goal….(me)

anyways this is going to be a favourite of mine, I am well and truly INVESTED. in the more ~oriental~ part of the book, but wow has it been a ride and a half!

they dont make 20 year olds like edmond dantes anymore...

just remembered I had promised myself I’d review, not just rate, every book I read this year. ha ha ha ha ha!! time to go back and fill in those reviews I guess.

David Levering Lewis needs to learn to just put the fries in the bag and move on. I hold the opinion that you can be historically impartial when it comes to covering religious content without being blatantly disrespectful, but clearly David doesn’t think the same way. His overwhelming skepticism and condescending & boisterous tone leads to the inclusion of objectively incorrect information in this book.

lowkey hating this omg…why is every second sentence a reference to something else, I really don’t like the tone of the book so far

Off to a very strong start here, extremely relatable

Bit weird to provide an update after only 5 pages but the first page of this book was one of the best first pages I have ever read, I already love the writing style so much
