Yay finally reading this book! My expectations are very high.

Still good! It’s moving at an okay pace so far

So incredibly unserious! And so fun!

I am 20 pages in, just finished chapter 1, and I am SO excited to keep reading. Super strong writing, vivid imagery, effective world-building. This is going to be GOODT!

Looking forward to coming back to this book over the years! Definitely a good book to revisit with a partner.

Okay it’s picking up a bit

I’m going to continue being patient. I like the writing style. I’m just not swooning over this love story that is brewing. It seems predictable so let’s see if the story plays out how I assume it will

The exercises in here seem like really good tools. I do them to a lighter degree by myself as I read this book. And also, these are great for me to do with a future serious partner. I look forward to coming back to the book over the years!

I’m trying to be patient with the setup and world building

This book helped reinforce some of the things I’ve been learning about grief, especially grieving the loss of a partner. I’m so grateful for what the author shared. Lots of patience, lots of both-and when it comes to emotions, lots of acceptance. And grace. And love in the present tense. And how it is because I loved so deeply that I now grieve.

Interesting premise, just not the best execution. I didn’t feel anything special reading this at all which sucks because there’s so much creativity and storytelling that had the potential to be in this book.

Good so far! It’s written more like a textbook (less dry and boring tho) so I’m learning new things about different dynamics. Still kind of in the intro part of the book so looking forward to continuing to learn

Ooooh this is the spice and tension I live for!

I came to appreciate the book by the end. However, this book wasn’t really my jam. I liked the focus on nature and storytelling and history and how there’s meaning to things we are often unaware of. Still, the pacing, writing style, and organization of the book didn’t click with me.

Interesting…

Solid start. Lots of background and building

What is even happening? This book is all over the place. One page we are in the woods and then a house with a woman as the main character, another page we are in some medieval times with some man.

Finally starting this book after wanting to start several months back. “Reel” by Kennedy Ryan was 5/5 stars, so I have high expectation for this one. I’m glad she already has the other books out in this series too!

Out the gate, strong start. Excellent writing as usual. Vivid emotions and building out characters with dimension.

I see why this is a classic. Looking forward to reading more.
