Chapter 23; hoooooooooly smokes. The writing, the drama, the emotions, I'm breathless; read it three times it was so good; I really hate that this is in the middle of the story though; all hell is about to break loose

At the moment the writing is the strongest aspect of this story for me; it's very nice, although it takes a minute for the story to progress given how it tends to linger.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. Don't like the immorality. I like Gabe and the writing. Not too sure about the story-line itself. The Sun-Prince is not too promising, vaguely reminds me of Carden from the Folk of the Air Trilogy. Maybe it's the necromancy, but I feel comfortable with this story, possibly because those elements remind me of The Black Witch (a story I hiiiiighly enjoy). Still will give it a chance.

This feels like glorified fanfiction. Also, Jasmine and Aladdin are waaaaay too comfortable with each other. The moralizing is more modern and billowing away on a random breeze without any religion to guide it. I'm still willing to give this book a chance, but I'm not sure how I'm going to end up liking it. I do like how the plot is traversing though; it feels natural and conducive to the original story. LOTR feeling

dude, this manner of story telling is pure gold, I can't remember the last time I was this invested in a story

This is giving me major Dorothy Must Die vibes; a lot darker than I thought a middle grade book should be. Maybe I got the age range mixed up, along with my expectations.

She is so angry. . .

I went into this with the expectation that I would like it, and so far, I'm borderline loving it. I think my favorite part is the writing style, and the mc's inner musings. The conversations about what it means to be a hero, a human or even to fight for your beliefs, it's all fascinating. Also, that cover.

Just realized this is by the same author as Red Hood. Bleh. Emery is rather too promiscuous for my tastes; why does his mother approve of this? Or is it just his imagination? I'm suspecting that the dragon is the maiden, and I hope she gives him a good hard time about morals and monogamy. Although, the blurb on the back says "feminist", so I'm scared to find out what kind shows up here.

I wasn't sure what I expected this to be, but I'm very intrigued now. I wonder how other more feminist people would respond to this.

This lowkey reminds me of Dresden Files, and I'm unsure how I feel about that. So far, the plot has been fighting people, hot goddesses he makes out with, lots of gorgeous red haired crazy chicks, and being warned. It doesn't really boil down to much, but I'm counting on the fact that it's setting up a much larger stage and introducing a lot of people and facts. Also, Oberon is amazing.

Lan is now stressing me out. . .

The main character annoys me: she's highly immature and arrogant. However, that's a good basis for good character development, so I'm holding out hope that she will get better. I will concede that her bravery and loyalty to Lisa are highly commendable, and I do believe her to be intelligent. However, I look forward to seeing her cultivated to have a sharper edge.

Definitely intrigued. I think the persons I am most interested in are Shae and Hilo. I would rather do without the explicit scenes but I guess I'll have to deal with it.

I'm feeling slightly apathetic while simultaneously intrigued. Will definitely try to finish this despite my less than glorious track record this year.

Got weirdly specific in an uncomfortable way and I can't unsee; perhaps this isn't for my age but maybe if I keep a case of bleach by my side at all times when reading this I will be better able to appreciate the apparent glory that Daniel Greene waxed eloquent for a quarter of an hour about.

Things are perfect right now; I know what the catalyst to the speeding nightmare is going to be. Fun.

Now she's trying to flirt with boys who are 2 years younger to get info she could've gotten by just being friendly.
