I read "Phantom Lady," by Cornell Woolrich, originally published under the pseudonym William Irish. Woolrich wrote crackerjack noir, suspense, the macabre, and crime. This book makes you think, gee, if only he'd taken a writing class. In Phantom Lady, he creates and eerie sense of uncertainty, fear, and fate.
Recommended for noir lovers.
