I can't decide whether Maxim is unpleasant in the expected/natural way I imagine a 42 year old man who comes from old money would be towards his young poor bride, or if he is just a jerk circumstances aside.

The third of my four library holds! Im not sure if I'll be in the mood for the fourth book I picked out, but I'm certainly very much in the mood for this one!

This isn't a "the book is bad" kind of um. It's an "I NEED to hit the FMC with something HEAVY" kind of um.

Ah man, atp the murderer is most likely either the person I always suspected or a character I am fond of. If I HAD to choose I'd prefer the character I like to have been the criminal mastermind because the other would be rather too easy

Been getting so caught up with them traveling to Paris ( PARIS!!!! MY LOVELY LOVELY PARIS!!!!!) and Venice and all the gossip of the rich, I highkey keep forgetting there's a war about to happen 😭

I'm craving Downton abbey again, except I remember it way too vividly to rewatch AND Im not ready to say goodbye and see the final movie, so this is the closest I get to filling that gap.
