Honestly good plot twist, makes the rapidness of the romance make more sense too

That kiss came out of nowhere and I don’t know how I feel about it

Not the “oh no your girlfriend broke up with you because you clearly still have feelings for me but I couldn’t possibly give into these lingering feelings because she knows you better and deserves it more” uggggghhhhhhh

This is such a non issue in stories, the “third person” gets out of the picture and then the main ship is like “GASP NO we couldn’t give into this!”

“You have ruined my tongue for all other tastes”, and understood finally what that phrase meant.

that’s a good callback and I’m mad about it HOW CAN SOMEONE BE THIS GOOD AT WEAVING WORDS TOGETHER

The writing is so good but I am also confused beyond belief because of all the names oops

This whole world so far is soooo vibrant and detailled. Laini rly is good at weaving a new world right before your very eyes. I’m still struggling to keep up with all the names and such (I always struggle with it so that’s not a problem specifically for this book) but I can’t deny the writing is lovely so far.

‘Michael triumphantly raised his fist in the air in a Judd Nelson-like fashion.

Literally three e-book pages later:
