Continuously gagged while reading. This is the five star thriller I needed.

Rereading/ listening to the audiobook to prepare for SotF

Doing a reread ~ Convinced my bestie to read this for book club & I couldn’t be happier. You never would have guessed I just read this for the fist time last month lol

Finally figured out my rating system 😌

My rating system is based on this hierarchy:

1. Emotional impact 🦋
2. Character depth 🤌🏼
3. Themes/morality/philosophy 💡
4. Writing quality ⚖️
5. Plot excitement 💫

So interesting how so much of this book, this series, is about breaking & keeping… promises. Of all things..

The momentum so far is a complete 180 from book 4 & I hope it stays that way! 🙈

Isabel is a little nutty. Looking forward to more of her character reveal.

Do you start formulating a review while you’re reading a book (let’s say towards the end of the book for example) or do you wait until you’ve finished it completely?

My perception of Henry has irrevocably shifted…

I’ve been traveling so I haven’t been able to read much this week (🥲) but looking forward to finishing this by the weekend. Interested to see if there is a plot twist since we’ve known the main plot from the beginning…

I only enjoy murder mysteries when they’re done in this formula -> admit the crime first, then work backwards. IMHO Anything else feels like a popcorn thriller.

I love when an interesting book references other books *immediately adds to TBR* In this case, I added The Invisible Man to my TBR just yesterday. Odd coincidence since I just read about it..

On another note, the psychology condescension... A Tartt footnote or a trait of the MC? TBD
