So far, I love this book. I went into it with the expectation that it wouldn't be like the rest of the series, and I was right. It's about the world building and the character development of the two who started it all. It's a breath of fresh air in a way because I already know what happens to most of the characters. It's the "fill in the gaps" story.

I know a lot of readers don't like the FMC here. But this is my re-read and I recognize the tendencies of avoidant attachment, which Opal captured perfectly. Kitty is honestly the perfect Duskwalker for her because of his personality and his own trauma. Honestly? I love the book so much more this time around.

Alright. Starting my refresher reread because I need to get the fourth book to you all by the end of the year! Here we go!

OMG Nathair might be my favorite Duskwalker. He's such a Cinnamon Roll Noodle! But also so broken 💔 I want to hug him so hard!

The more I listen to this audio book, the more I enjoy it.

I'm 2 hours and 42 minutes into the audio book and let me tell you - it is amazing! I love the narrators. It's bringing a whole new perspective to the story!
