lowkey this book is a mess and not written super well and i don’t find any of the characters really likable either but ill finish it… and read the next one probably (because i own a hard copy already)

i feel like the plot is not developing at all. 1/4 of the way through the book and we know almost nothing, have gathered a basically useless cast of characters who just sit around and hypothesize for too long on the motives of the alien, and somehow the wedding is still the highest priority in the book for a character that is not even attending the wedding. i just feel at this point something should be happening?

no because the humor at the end of this book is so funny

this book is truly actually insane. the twists and turns are crazy, the subtext to everything is nuts, the human interaction is so realistic and complicated, the betrayals are so deeply sad for so many reasons—i’m not sure if a book that feels so heavy with so few words
