Listening to this on an audiobook CD- at first, I was disappointed that the library didn’t have the actual book, but this has turned out to work out okay

I feel like, every couple of pages the main character completely overreacts to something (in her mind and body only, though- she never actually says anything, but she’s constantly feeling faint or gaping like a goldfish in shock, or her blood runs cold), and then five seconds later, “oh, it’s okay! everything’s fine!”

This book is *ridiculous*! But I am
enjoying it and am hooked 😄 Seriously, though, so many completely implausible things happening 😄

I’m not actually reading this, but listening to it on an audiobook CD. Very interesting and entertaining so far!

My new favorite poet 😍

The writing in this book is really pretty over-the-top 😄 Lots of over-describing, over-explaining, extra adjectives and adverbs thrown in willy-nilly. It’s like someone trying to liven up a salad by sprinkling in some more of this and then some more of that. The whole effect is that the
author is just trying way too hard. But! I’m enjoying it 😄 so I’ll keep going.

Starts off pretty slowly. The writing is full of cliches and I can already tell the book will be fairly predictable overall, but I’m enjoying it, and there are so many reviews saying it gives a good description of Montenegro, so I’ll keep giving it a chance.

Well, my name is Amber, and I did a search in the local library catalog for books having to do with amber with a small a, the gem amber. So lo and behold, the search turned up approximately a million novels with “Amber” in the title 😄 I knew it was getting to be a popular name, but I had no idea it was also the Pantone Color of the Year 😄
