Reading this aloud as family! Pretty exciting!

We are on chapter 7 or 8 and my son is enjoying this weird book that I hated the first time I read it a few years ago. We listen in the car to Jim Dale’s absolutely fantastic narration on a disc I finally found used for a good price because me reading this aloud was just not working out. If we are going to finish anytime soon I should probably get a cd player for the house!

Slightly predictable so far. Enjoying and losing all track of time reading it. Several instances of very foul language — something I’m sensitive to and usually avoid but really wanted to read this book. Hoping to finish today or tomorrow!

Getting so close to finishing up this delightful book about math! My July reading goals went out the window…had planned to finish this and several others long before now, but oh well. I am loving this book, though!

Giving this book one more try after Karen Andreola posted something on Facebook about it that made it sound appealing. We shall see!

I am so excited to read this with my son as part of our morning time. I love this book!

I got the Barnes & Noble edition. Tempted to go ahead and get the Folgers as well and will almost certainly get the audio. My brain is too distracted by all the notations.

Reading this alone. I thought I would skip straight to Anne’s House of Dreams but wanted to refresh my memory on some details. I may skip some scenes here and there.

Daytime read-aloud (after lunch), and also while the youngest goes to sleep. Despite originally pretending to be disinterested in “grown up Anne,” the eldest consistently asks for another chapter in the afternoons!

Reading this before bed, with Dad present. Our eldest can barely contain his excitement!

I am absolutely loving this book and already believe it to be a must-read!

I believe we have read two chapters. I have saved this for kindergarten for years and looked forward to reading it together and now I feel that we may have to put it aside for another year or so. My son doesn’t seem interested. 😅 we may try another chapter or so, or we may just move on.

I made it to chapter 8 and realized I have no idea what is going on. I have played this in the background of so much chaos and answering questions and settling disputes that I had not payed but the slightest amount of attention. So I am starting over!

I’m on chapter 16. For my pre-reading notes: there has been a lot of talk about death. Perhaps we will save this one for age 10 or so.
