Bhargav Varshney is starting Sleeping Giants (Themis Files, #1)
Apart from that, this set of VAs are probably the most fun bunch I’ve heard in an audiobook. I’ve tried with a lot of audiobooks but the voice acting HAS to stick to listen and finish the book! These people have done it so well.

Also, file 230 in the audiobook has an old chinese man who clearly has the same VA as Robert from the President’s office hahah.

So far, a really difficult read because of the author’s extreme bias. In the preface, a number of questionable ideas are presented - subtly treating Islam as an inferior religion, as well as overplaying the importance of 9/11. He also refuses to discuss important issues like Israel and its policies and then conveniently picks up his personal history as a Jew in Lebanon which has heavy religious undertones.

The prose is not frantic. Even when dealing with tough emotions, passion, sadness, romance, anger, the prose has an even quality. No matter what the words convey, what they make you feel, you don’t feel like rushing through them like gulping down a cool lemonade, you want to savour them - like a flavourful cup of tea.

Characters are really well written, and very likeable. I like reading about characters that stay in their thoughts as much as reality happens to them.

Each and every story is so poignant, it makes you think every time. Carver has observed life and distilled it into these short stories which are so cutting, so precise with the emotions they evoke. The writing style is so close to real life. Reading each story is as if you were underwater before and only when you're reading, only then you feel the air in your lungs. And then you go back in.

Seems quite different from Elantris. The pacing, the writing. The expectation from the plot. I feel quite excited about this.

I'm a little frustrated with the experience of reading Beloved. It's newer for me in the way that it deals with heavy themes but it's simultaneously very engrossing.

End result being that im not able to go on for more than 30-40 pages at a stretch because i need to let it settle before i read more.

Looking forward to finishing this as soon as I can.
