Dinniman’s ability to craft truly absurd situations with real emotional stakes is a marvel

Dude…Tad is getting me all emotional in just these first hundred pages.

Well that’s quite the captivating start

Wow! The first section here, book 3 of the whole LOTR, was absolutely incredible.

Spoilers:

Merry and Pippin captive with the orcs, then the adventure in Fangorn Forest with the ents, rescuing Theoden, Helm’s Deep and its aftermath with Saruman — I never wanted this part to end, with the mix of characters being so much fun to spend time with. Just tremendous scene after tremendous scene.

Loved Snapshot! That was exactly the experience I was hoping for out of Moment Zero and didn't get. Snapshot was an entertaining sci-fi potboiler with an intriguing hook, some great twists, and a POV that was grounded enough to be believable.

Man the centerpiece of this collection, his new novella Moment Zero, fell totally flat for me. Just so cheesy-feeling, and lacking any of the qualities that usually draw me to Sanderson’s stories.

Not every day that you get to start the final book of a favorite mega-series

Each chapter is just such a satisfying arc unto itself

Part 3 was just impossibly good

Chapter 10 was a quiet scene, and maybe one of my favorites I've ever read

Goodness that big chapter to end Part 1 was just an utter masterpiece of a scene

Coming back to this debut novel again, I realize how I didn’t fully grasp the extraordinary degree of its quality the first time through adjusting as I was to a new writing style and world. It makes for an absolutely incredible reread

Man alive what a great first chapter. And so I embark on the bittersweet journey of finishing out a beloved series

this has merely reached the level of absurdly compelling

What a start! How am I supposed to finish my work tasks today having begun this…I just wanna curl up and binge

the first story Ghost Days was solid but not really for me -- I'm hoping I'm going to get more futuristic stuff to come
