The book is very engaging and interesting but I had to stop temporarily because the idea of anyone naming their kid Mignon is just too distracting... 😬 Oh sweet little Filet Mignon! Lol, no, why would anyone do this?!

I'm calling it now. I don't trust Zana one bit and haven't for a while. The fake diary entries and I think she took the insulin.

Rin is definitely not a sympathetic character at this point.

Just started but this book is truly excellent! So far it's easily as good as the first Hunger Games. The culture, world and characters are very well-developed and interesting. This is what attracted me to reading and later, to writing: a well-told story is just a true pleasure to read. It's fun and it's interesting!

Spineless stupid women that sabotage themselves just aren't sympathetic main characters. I just want to smack this dumb lady! God, you know Jewel isn't Ben's daughter, she's his girlfriend and he's banging her. Where's Sweetpea when you need her, now THERE'S a character I can really get behind.

My god, could Christa possibly be anymore of a spineless doormat?! Get a backbone and a clue, lady!!

Oh my God, she is a true kindred spirit. I bet this book ruffled some feathers, she's clearly calling out the Harrison Bergeron bullshit that's been going on and doesn't mince words.

Writing believable children is a skill apparently and some can do it and some just can't.

This kid's voice might get tedious real quick...

Alright I'm stuck on how a lady who works as a barista in a coffee shop somehow had $246,000 in her "investment account". The husband sells real estate and he must be in a real high end area, because somehow they aren't living the same life in the same timeline as any of us would be in those circumstances. lol. Must be nice.

We better get some answers soon because right now these people are all just irritating the shit out of me and their behavior is completely unbelievable.

God, Beth is horrible. She treats that man like a personal ATM and sperm bank. No wonder he felt like killing himself. I would have done the same. She's awful. I feel sorry for the kids too.

56% in and we just had the moider so it's not exactly fast moving although it's good writing. It's been their day to day lives up until now. Some of the dialogue segues obvious awkward info dumps at times, but overall it's good.

Alright, it's now been mentioned at least 5 times how these Sherlock Holmes books are her biggest sale ever and how much money they're worth so I'm just on pins and needles waiting to see what's going to happen to them, lol. I could be wrong of course, but... I'll update one way or the other what happens with these books!

I'm sorry, I have zero sympathy for Liv or interest in that storyline. She clearly likes the way her husband treats her so let her have what she wants. Who cares?

There's so many great scenes and one liners that there's no longer any point in highlighting my favorites; I'd just to need to highlight the whole goddamn book. The whole series. These are wonderful! New favorites I think.

Could Charlie possibly be ANY stupider?? It's not like the guy was ever even nice to her, not even sometimes so I don't get the desperation to pursue him. Zero surprise and zero sympathy for what just happened now. Moron. She gives all women a bad name.

I hope no one is surprised by the "twist" just before part 3 because I honestly saw it way, way back, lol.

I'm not going to lie, I'm pulling for Marcella at this point. The XMen similarities are way too obvious right down to the Magneto like cage for Eli and June's ability is basically the same as Mystique. (Another character I like and feel bad for, probably the least evil of this lot, really, even if she's very casual about killing.) This IS basically XMen at this point but considering my love for that... no complaints!

Oh jesus. I never expected to feel sorry for Eli but this doctor is worse. He makes Mengele look like a pacifist. yikes.

Damn, she goes dark. But very compelling. I'm intrigued and impressed.
