Truly delightful so far! I’m obsessed with the premise, prose, and adventure/intrigue of this book! I’ve never read anything quite like it. It has all the magic and charm and clever narration of the children’s fiction I loved growing up, while also being a “research journal” for a Cambridge professor. The perfect fall read + very humanities girlie :)

Part 2 has me hooked 😌 I appreciate that altho there’s a romantic subplot, it doesn’t overshadow the narrative. You know she’s the main character when a prince and a warrior both want her and then another prince enters the scene and he likes her too 😭🙏 ofc she’s oblivious to the power she holds

I’m listening to such a lovely dramatized audiobook! Just watched the movie, and loving how much more detail + worldbuilding is in the book 😌

I kinda lost interest for 2 weeks but planning to finish 🙏

This book is way longer than I remembered 😩

Rereading before Onyx Storm, and prepping my thoughts for a big end-of-book review 😭
