So far this is a raw, gritty story of freedom and survival on society’s margins. I really like Dillon as our main character, and overall, I think I’ll really like this book when it’s finished. That said, the pacing is feeling like it’s just a *shade* too quick. We’ll see how things unfold from here.

Really liking the set-up of this so far. It’s timely, thought-provoking, and really engaging. I really like the 3 characters we’re following, as well as the supporting cast.

The only thing that’s giving me pause, is that the virus at the centre of this book shares a name with an alcohol brand (Crown Royale) and I can’t stop picturing a bottle of whiskey in place of this virus when I read the name in the book.
