I heard this ranked up there on a weird scale, so I'm reading because I'm too curious not to.🤷🏻‍♀️

So, a lot of this book thusfar has been a plug for another series by her I haven't read which annoys me. Series should stand on their own.

Two, it bothers me when authors don't do research on what they're writing. She just said a werewolf retracted her claws. Wolves can't do that, at all.

In the second paragraph it says she was watched over for the first fifteen years or so... and that was after being taken from her parents whom she remembers running with... I'd guess that puts her somewhere between 18- early twenties. In the next paragraph it says "but when I was an early teen" but is talking about after what she'd already described.🤔

Okay. So, they get Arturo in, right... and he doesn't deny anything except being Soul Reaper. Then talks shit about him. There's only one presence online that was doing so, and he clearly didn't deny the rest of what he was accused of. But... they're just going to not look into that and accept that he is Soul Reaper? I feel like a lot of the storyline from book three on was clunky.

I've been waiting for three books to say I remotely like Kai, but I still can't stand him. I skip all their dirty parts because I honestly wish he wasn't even part of any of this. I love the storyline, James writes exceptional books, and not all characters work foe everyone and that's okay.

Kai is mine. I think he's an arrogant ass, who throws tantrums and acts like a stupid caveman 100% of the time.

I keep waiting to love the FMC, but so far she's been an irritating, selfish, hurtful, mean, arrogant bitch. Arrogant towards powerful beings she has no right to be that way towards. Hurtful towards people who are trying to be kind. Selfish towards those who seek to help her. I do not enjoy her at all and she is quite literally ruining the story for me. I think the writer was trying for witty banter, but failed.

The main character is a petulant child with too much power and no common sense who acts like she's five but still thinks she can just do whatever she wants. It's annoying as fuck.
