Helping to expand my theory reading list! Jokes aside - I also take issue with some (but certainly not all) of the writers discussed here, to varying degrees - though not for the same reasons as Scruton.

Reading a fable a day - will it keep the pontificators away?

Using this as eye-bleach, as I'm now having to read "The Rise of Endymion" chapter-by-chapter, after I am done with my nightly chapter of the aforementioned.

Having a difficult time finishing this one off... Another journey down the River Tethys? Repeatedly addressing individuals and institutions, particularly those of the Church, with the entirety of their long-ass titles and names...? I was really hoping for more exposition on the Teilhardian teleology of the Cantos-verse at this point...

I always appreciate a good "people's history" as a historiographic counterweight to prevailing narratives, but I could really do without the stereotypically-Millennial snark and superciliousness in tone. Frankly it's annoying and makes the presentation come off as one of pure Slave Morality.

I really don't know why I'm reading this. I'm a Leftist, so don't judge me too harshly!
