Re-reading.

Sadly, this re-read is an unideal experience so I will not finish it. I recall this being a 3 star the first go, that was about 3 years ago. Now, it's a 1 star read at best.

This book is utterly ridiculous. The writing is banal and juvenile. The use of modern-day phrases in a fantasy world in which taverns exist is absurd. I refuse to continue reading it; moving to the DNF shelf.

Utterly gobsmacked. This novel is fantastic.The writing is brilliant. Everything is incredible. I quite literally cannot stop reading, it's rare to find books that tick every box, and then some.

Re-reading this again so I can read Onyx Storm. 2nd re-read of the year.

I'm bored...it started off well, alas, my interest has dwindled. There's also quite a bit of telling, not showing.

This is not going well... Switching to third person-multi POVs is unnecessary, especially with these insignificant characters that we're apparently supposed to care about...who are all these people?

I feel as though I'm reading a different story; the switch is startling. I'm predicting a DNF...which I'll be gutted about as I was riveted after the previous novel.

Only 10% in; this is already better than the first. Let's hope the momentum continues. Uncertain if this is an unpopular opinion, but I don't fancy Kamran; since the first few chapters — Tamlin 2.0 🗣 💆🏻‍♀️

I suppose I am in the minority in that this novel is rather boring.

I quite literally couldn't care less about finishing this. DNF

Why do terrible novels continue to be published?

Boring. Another DNF? Most assuredly.

Incredibly boring and utterly absurd. DNF.

I am relishing being back in this world. I am gutted that this is the last book. I adore these characters so very much; the laughs, banter, fire, drama, found family, so much more! Gaaahhh...perfection.

So...Dystopian Fourth Wing sans the Dragons. Right.

Re-reading in 2025. Still one of my favourite series and it is definitely superior to Carissa's other series.

Re-reading in 2025. It's still one of my favourite novels, the entire trilogy is perfection.

For years, I have dreamt about reading this. The icing on the cake is that in the first few minutes, I realised it was set in the same world as The Air Awakens series; 20 years in the future. We have the privilege of seeing our favourite characters from that series as well. What an absolute treat ☺️😌🥰

This is about all I can take. Apparently, this what passes for fantasy?

Why do we keep publishing terrible books?

I knew we couldn't trust her. Amanda's naivety is astounding.

Bloody hell, these characters... My hate for Theon is established at this point. I thought book 2 would deliver a different Tessa; vengeful, complete rage, ready to burn it all down, fire and thunder in her veins. But alas, she's still insufferable and whiny. She let's everyone treat her like rubbish, it's utterly bonkers.

My second go at this and my loathing for Theo has not dwindled. He is utterly appalling and If I were Tessa, I'd unalive him, though making sure that it lasts a long time---it must be savoured. I shouldn't put myself thorough this, yet again. However, I loved Lady of Darkness and I'm hoping this gets better in the following books. Though uncertain how I'd ever feel anything but distaste towards Theo.

Re-reading so I can read the following books. I loved the Lady of Darkness series, but the legacy series has thus far, been a disappointment. Though I'm hoping it'll get better in book 2. 🤞🏻

OMG!! I've missed hitorical novels. Cam is perfection!! Be still my beating heart. sigh ^_^
