I found the Mary Shelley example too relatable—my publishing cohort was talking about early post-apocalyptic fiction like the Canticle of Leibowitz & I was surprised no one in a group of publishers had ever heard of The Last Man

I don't have WhatsApp so I'm placing my bets here: it's totally Eric. I think most of the leftover clues are about Bryce's heist because we've got a pretty good idea about everyone else's motives and heists except Eric and Bryce (and only one of them has a clear reason NOT to have killed Edward).
