Churchill, Walking with Destiny. Just finished reading after a couple of fits and starts because of the length and the detailed coverage of almost EVERY day of the war. Nonetheless, it is a very good book that manages to capture the essence of Churchill and at least some of his impact on history. The author is not enamored with Churchill. He is able to point out some of his flaws and poor decisions. Good book.

I probably will not finished this book. It is a straight up biography, and almost nothing else. The man in the biography is Alan Burns, and he was an excellent administrator serving the Empire for years. He watched new ideologies sweep over the world and destroy colonialism. Mr. Burns saw the good and bad of Imperialism, but thought the British system lifted people out of poverty. But, the book is BORING. No joke.

Book was not what I was looking for. Stopped reading several times. Not worth the money.

Fairly good. The problem is so little is known about the Toltec civilization. Very much of it is pure guess work.

Alan Daniel is 70% done with Darwin's Doubt: The Explosive Origin of Animal Life and the Case for Intelligent Design
Started out very well, but midway it degenerated into a lot of scientific jargon making it difficult to plow through. The book becomes extremely wordy with its explanations, and it seems to become repetitive. Still, it has a lot of good information.

So far, it seems interesting, but it is not a page turner. Various claims are being made that cannot be verified by me in an independent fashion; thus, I remain skeptical about the theories in the book. We will see as we continue reading. AD2
