I almost DNF this. The 1st half was too slow for my liking - nothing interests me. It is just like the usual story that you watched on TV. Upon reaching page 200, it became interesting… promising; made me believe it’ll be worth my while. So I pressed on, determined to finish it; wondering why a lot of people like this book so much! Good thing, the 2nd half is really good! So I just kept on reading. 3.75 stars

This is a book I bought for only P20 at Booksale store 10 years ago! Intended to be read by my cousin, but was left at home unread. I didn’t read it before because I haven’t really liken dark fantasy. But I promised myself to read all the books I own, hence I picked this one up and to my surprise -the story is really amazing! Upon reaching chapter 3 I couldn’t put it down. And I’m so glad that I’ve read it

Naaalala ko yung subject naming “Typing” noong high school. Paborito ko tong subject! 40minutes na mainggay sa klase pero nakakarelaks! May panahon pa na pinagtype kami ng tula ni Joyce Kilmer na “Trees” na hugis puno! Dapat tama ang bilang ng backspace para sentro! Pagkonti ang bura, mas mataas ang grado.

Binasa ko muli ang aklat na ito mula sa simula. May isang taon na rin ng huli ko itong binuksan… nakalimutan ko na rin syang tapusin dahil mawalan ako ng interes. Nabwisit ako noon dahil puro reklamo lang ang nababasa ko at yan ang reklamo ko sa aklat na ito! Hahaha! Sa pangalawang pagkakataon, napagtanto ko na nakakatawa pala sya! Patunay na hindi lahat ng nababasa natin ay kailangan palaging seryosohin.

I totally agree that this book is not for everyone. Every chapter is more painful than the previous. I want to DNF the book due to too much negative emotion, but I pushed through because I was hopeful… longing for redemption; a happy ending just like all my favorite books. I didn’t cry, but page after page I was aching inside…

This book was gifted to me 11 years ago… and finally I was able to find time; sat down and read it. The stories are simple yet inspiring.
