this book is deliciously good :)

I have done basically nothing today except for read this book. It is just brilliant. I don't know how to describe it, but I love it. I started on page 31 this morning and I've already reached page 106. I consider myself a slow reader, so you know this has gotta be an enrapturing story if I'm willing to do nothing but read for hours on end. LOVING EVERY SECOND OF IT.

LOVING this book so far. The writing style is very suave, but not in a way that feels indigestible. On the contrary, I've found the reading experience to be quite smooth, and I've only had to backpedal a couple of times when I lost concentration; not because the writing style struggled to flow. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Yes, I am still reading this book because I am stubborn. I've found a good use for it though! Putting me to sleep! I read like two pages of this at night and I would so much rather be sleeping than wondering what is going on in the renting life of Mr. Otway's villa.

It's slow, but almost intoxicating in the way that it is written. Moshfegh writes you into circles for the first 50 pages of this book, with main character Vesta wondering endlessly about the mysterious note she found on her morning walk. So far, really enjoying it! It's kind of giving me 'The Girl on the Train' energy.

Already enjoying this collection a lot more than 'Comfort Food' – it's a lot more succinct and rich in its imagery. I also feel like the intentions behind each of the poems is a lot clearer. 'Comfort Food' was a good read, but 'Throat' is already shaping up to be an great read :)

Ayo, this book is lowk intimidating to pick up. The language isn't really that hard to read, and every time I am reading this book i'm thinking to myself, this is not so bad, but the thought of picking the book up and deciding to spend time reading it is painful. Idek why. The book is literally in my bag right now and you bet you're bottom dollar I'm too scared to pull it out for no good reason.

Roughly about half way through this book and I am adoring it. Truly, it is such a beautiful character study. Every point of action feels intentional – from the folding of a beer label to the removal of a pair of gloves. Everything just feels woven together so beautifully. The analogies, similes and metaphors are all so fresh but so perfect in what they describe. This book feels like breathing. So far – enchanting.

Things are gearing up!! And I'm absolutely loving this book!

This book is pretty good so far! I also just found out that this is published Reylo fanfic, which honestly makes so much sense, because the first thing I thought when I looked at that front cover was - Adam Driver -.
