I’m still surprised that my experience has been mostly of frustration so far. Our protagonist has been learning to fight but he mostly doesn’t know shit. And there are a lot of chapters without him. This has been a 3 stars read and it might lower to 2, depending on how much the authors forces the plot. I can’t believe this is what follows my 5 star reading of the first book. I was so excited.

How is it possible that I enjoyed the first book so much and all I see in this one are its flaws. It’s frustrating. I’m not having fun on this long bumpy ride.

I’m surprised to say that i came off the first book really excited to read the next but this has been a huge disappointment so far. Aside from the useless fat phobic moment, and the confirmed misogyny of the Pure, our MC has done nothing but be manipulated cluelessly. Nothing happened besides going to an oracle who spelled DOOM. It’s a fifth of the book!! What a let down!

I’m still pleasantly hooked on the story. I’m interested in what’s to come and hopeful for some characters. I’d say the author has done a great job so far. I hope this feeling continues because I’m having a great time reading this book.

It’s been mostly a smooth ride. Still enjoying the book and excited about what’s to come. A little worried that the author was a bit ruthless about some deaths and our protagonist was useless for the most part, but it’s still within good sense, so no harsh judgement. There’s a lot to look forward to.

I’m loving this book. The writing flows and the few grievances are vastly outweighed by the shining points. I’m having fun and I’m eager to read more.

It’s been so boring. The only reason I’m still reading is to get to the end. No enjoyment at all. I don’t care about anything happening with Spook. He should’ve died. Sazed is a disappointment. TenSoon’s chapters are too short. Elend is dumb and unworthy and Vin should be the focus. Marsh’s annoying too, but intriguing. And the politics are mind numbing. This’ll be a 3 stars at best. Waste of time.

I’m still mostly annoyed and I’m finishing it out of spite. I don’t like how Vin herself held the divine power but it’s Elend who is the powerful one. I don’t like Elend and he continues to disappoint, much like Sazed, who was once, my fav character. I don’t like Spook’s parts and I hate that doesn’t talk clearly with Sazed. The Kandra parts are too small. Overall, disappointing.

Rating so far, 3 stars. I like the business with the kandra, but the rest has been predictable or boring. I don’t like how Elend has took the forefront from Vin. I don’t like how Spook got rewarded for a stupid mistake. I don’t like this whimsical duality between Ruin and Preservation. Ruin has been very active but where is preservation? I’m not liking how arbitrary these Blessings are. Overall, meh.

I struggle to find why Brandon is so acclaimed. Changing votes? Really? This is so ridiculous. Only an American would be capable of thinking that. This is so disappointing. This little twist was ridiculous.

At 93%, I shouldn’t be here, I should be reading. But I’m here writing that I don’t like it. Now everything is being reduced to a crushed nation revolution of people with different colored skin. They were enslaved and oppressed but we’re supposed to see them as attackers. Disappointing.

The reading has flowed a little better in these last pages but it’s still a steep hill. The only reason I’m still here is because of the Cosmere, otherwise, I would’ve put it down.

I’m reading it for the cosmere but I’m not really having fun. So far, a few contradictions and exaggerations have been pulling me out of the story. But I’m hoping it gets better.

It could’ve been a fast read if I was actually into it, but I don’t think the book is for me. It’s going to be a 2-3 star for me because that describes my experience well. Too silly, too rushed. Shallow characters and paper thin plot.

The story is quickly falling apart for me. The plot has become shallow, the silliness has gotten exaggerated and the dialogue is getting cringe. At this point, I’m just gearing up to finish the story, but it will be between 2-3 stars for me. The quick and quirky start got me hooked, but it didn’t deliver beyond that.

The books is looking more like shenanigans and less like actual plot. Also, a little cliché. I’m quickly losing interest and most likely won’t continue with the series. Lots of eyerolls in the last 3 chapters I read.

It bumped down to a very agreeable 4 star. I’m not fully invested in slewfoot’s identity crisis and I’m not liking that everything is about resistance against Abitha, specially Forest.
