Ok it’s getting much better now. Phew!

This is like reading an effing textbook. The concept is interesting but this is my least favorite kind of sci-fi. Only persisting in reading it bc a friend promised I’d love it. Hmm.

Reading this for a book club. Like many other books that try to tackle the history of this land, it has a specific bias and contains lots of info that could be challenged. Reading it alongside a few other texts from different perspectives. I think this is an important perspective especially because of how popular this book is.

There is no reason for Abby to be so mean to Seth. Grumpy/Sunshine is one thing, but she is just a jerk for no reason.

WHY would anyone ever lie to their friends about the fact that someone was their former fiancée? This premise is simply unbelievably annoying to me. It’s so so stupid to think you need to lie to all your closest friends about a detail like that! Just say, “we used to be engaged and it ended badly. I don’t want to talk about it.”

This book is so good. It's unlike anything else I've ever read. Closest I can think of is Gideon the Ninth, but even that is a completely different thing. I'm in awe of this story.

I'm so excited for this book! Full disclosure, a college classmate wrote this! I'm so proud of him!

Yikes maybe skip this one if you don’t want to read violence against cats!
