I usually hate YA, but this is tolerable YA and infinitely better than Dune. Enjoying it so far.

The second half of this book is better than the first

This book sucks

The main character makes me feel better about myself as a person. Also this isn't a fantasy romance. It's a fantasy story with a romantic subplot (a faint one). Still wonderfully written though! The author handles complex subjects well.

There's entirely too much of this book left and things are probably about to go *very* poorly.

I think I was lied to about this being a romance. It says "a novel", very much feel like this is a fantasy with a romantic sub plot. Also because the female protagonist is insufferable. The author does a little *too* good of a job at making unlikable characters. Can't wait to read more!
