found a different edition lol. the writing's really growing on me in a way where it feels like someone from the neighborhood is telling me the story. in the way my grandma in brooklyn would point to a spot we're walking by and tell me about what happened there. this perspective works better in some chapters and others not, like the queen is dead, it was a little hard to read it like thato im running out of characters
