Had me in tears a couple of times already

This book made me feel emotional already. Rum has a deep love of her characters.

“Tell me about your mom. Tell me about your relationship with her when youwere a kid. ”
Immediately I’m defensive.Why does she want me to talk about Mom?What' s wrong with Mom? Nothing’s wrong with Mom. Mom was perfect.

I feel for israa so much

“Pretty please. Soon you'll be married, and then ...” Her voice dwindled to a whisper. “Your memories are all I have left of them.”
“Fine.” Deya sighed. “I'll tell you what I remember.” She straightened and cleared her throat. But she didn’t tell Nora the truth. She told her a story.

Lovely so far

Pretty confused so far, maybe that's because I'm reading this in my third language and I'm not fluent enough for Atwood's poetry

I'm literally reading this book at work, that's how amazing it is.
