too spooky for me

Tried it twice before bed and have concluded that nothing good can come from me reading this book

I switched over to the audiobook because it’s read by Max himself. Really enjoying the content and storytelling. There’s more music industry content than I was expecting. There’s a lot of crossover with the sports industry a bit so it’s really interesting to me. Plus we all know I was a sucker for the Arkells!

Great story so far. It took a little bit to get into the narrator perspective and flow - paired with stating it in a distracted environment. It clicked and now the format has me eagerly anticipating what comes next. Looking forward to reading time every night!

Enjoying the story thus far

And I always feel good when a book references other books I’ve read. There have been two already!

Sweet, endearing and I don't want to stop reading

The government control and interference plotline reminds me of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. And there are at least two government employees that embody the spirit of "that nice Umbridge lady" (as the Wesson kids jokingly refer to her). How refreshing to have these issues explored by someone who's not problematic (aka J. K. Rowling)!

The book opened with a quote from Anne of Green Gables! I can’t help but smile at Canadian content ever since I moved to the states. I’m going to have so much to share about this one at American Book Club!

I pulled this off my childhood bookshelf for the Canadian culture. It’s rather enjoyable - should have read it 21 years ago! The vocabulary is very different than Mr. Brian Burke’s book which I’m also currently reading.
