Another fine book by David Kent. It is history, but the subgenre is the travelogue. It recounts the two journeys of Lincoln to New England at key times in his personal and political maturation. We are invited to see the New England towns and cities as Lincoln saw them. Kent shows how important the two New England trips were to Lincoln's path to the presidency. - John Moore, US Capital Historical Society
