One of the most impressive things about the live ship traders trilogy that I’ve noticed so far is how much Robin Hobb takes advantage of the perspective she writes from. Her use of 3rd person limited, multi-POV (a contrast to the previous trilogy’s first person narration) is so purposeful and so effective for the story she’s telling. She exposes her characters through what they do not see and do not tell us.
