Hm, I don’t think I want to read any further. The depravity of this world is a bit too much for me to stomach.

Kat is quite insufferable.

Man, Kat really makes this a struggle to read. Why do all female protagonists have to be so sassy?

I love Jacob and am interested in Hugh’s story, but it’s a bit laborious to read through.

“... a twenty-two-year-old(...)who spent the day playing Angry Birds and tweeting ungrammatical messages to her fans...”

I wanted to read an 80s book for a reason... 😭

I guess I gotta find an older print because this eBook version has been updated for the present.

Got through the Kindle free sample that goes midway through chapter 4, and I’m honestly really impressed. Even though the synopsis was extremely promising, I wasn’t expecting much at all, just from past disappointing experiences. But this is really good. Cassie is believable and not annoying, and 175 is so sweet. (Only complaint is that I think there was a typo where 175’s real name got slipped unintentionally)

Ok, I LOVE Lauren. She put Freyja in her place. I love a heroine who can take it and dish it. ❤️

Really digging this, not gonna lie.

I like Lauren so far. 🥺

I also LOVE how they haven’t fallen in love with each other at first sight. Man, that’s so rare to find. I can really feel a genuine friendship developing. ☺️

Hm...

So, Kit wants to marry someone quick to avoid a marriage set up by his father and must do it before they meet in 6 weeks. He wants to marry a quiet, respectable woman. His friends make discouraging comments about Lauren, who is seen as impossible, cold, and uninterested in marriage. And Kit is up for the challenge?! What if he fails?! I feel like it doesn’t make sense to risk this in his current situation...

I was gonna pass on this, but the hero and heroine finally made eye contact, so now I’m a bit curious and willing to read more.

I appreciate when the hero and heroine meet right away. Unless it’s compelling, I don’t like drawn-out first encounters.

Hm, Reyna’s a bit of a handful...

I’m surprised she didn’t find Reginald’s plan <spoiler>of marrying him to ward off men, while also having his protection</spoiler> convenient. It would’ve helped her a lot, even if it wasn’t what she initially planned for.

Though, she might’ve dodged a bullet because he’s a bit too rough that there’d probably be problems later between them both, had she accepted.
