Okay so I'm only halfway through, and I think the book reads like an early draft. The main thing is that every piece of information is reiterated again and again. It's also clear that Eartha is a stand-in for Florence, but it feels like she has all the thoughts of current Florence even though she's supposed to be in the beginning of her character development.
