This is an older book... From 2009... But it's good so far. I say that because frequently books from 15-20 years ago feel super outdated. This one does not so far.

Okay the book has gone all religious-y. Weird. Ugh. Hoping it pulls me back in here for the finale.

I usually HATE the romance that gets shoved into books, but I don't even mind this one. In fact, I kind of like it. This book is fantastic so far.

I can't put it down. It's delightful so far. I LOVE a good gothic novel...

Okay now I see why people were upset with the witchcraft stuff being included. I think there's too much of it. But man, this author knows how to set the stage with rich, descriptive language for each chapter. In a book like this, liking ALL the sections is always tough. I will say I've enjoyed MOST of them so far for sure.

How crazy is it that these ideas about women persist today?!?!

Very cute and fun but a little bumpy and slow. Not bad enough to stop reading tho.

Honestly sadistic. Unreal. I need to find info on this phenomenon. How is it that so many whackity-schmackity people are all together in one religion and doing these terrible things to children? It's unbelievable.

The author is reading for the audiobook, but...ummm...he shouldn't. The book itself is decent, but his mumbly, breathy reading makes it less interesting for sure. Story is good tho. Not as ghosty as us like but still good!
