I got hooked on Gibson with Neuromancer, 40+ years ago. The world Gibson constructed was compelling, alarming and oddly familiar. But it was hard to get into his later books. I bailed out of those novels early. This time, delighted by Amazon's filmed version of Peripheral, I downloaded the book. Once again, it's been painful. But I'm going to keep reading, hoping to find Gibson's fast-paced genius once more.
