Whitney is starting Best Ghost Stories of Algernon Blackwood
The stories are very wordy. I’m putting this book down now because I’m too lazy to parse them. I may or may not pick it up later.

Delany's prose is very dense. I'm normally a fast reader, but I can only manage 10 pages or so at a time.

Whitney is starting The Elements of Style
I've never read this book before now. So why does it feel like a review?

Whitney is starting The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness
I'm working my way up to it, really I am. Right now, though, it feels like the literary equivalent of taking your medicine.

Whitney is starting John Dies at the End (John Dies at the End, #1)
I want to like this book more than I do. It has some wonderfully gonzo moments in it. Mostly, though, I'm sick of the toilet humor, dick jokes, and female characters that are nothing more than another set of boobs. Clearly I am not this book's target audience.

Whitney is 35% done with Victorian Murderesses: A True History of Thirteen Respectable French and English Women Accused of Unspeakable Crimes (Dover Books on History, Political and Social Science)
Ugh. I'm not reading any more of this. Who would have thought that a book with true crime, history, and sociological commentary could be so very boring?
