i thought the way the main character spoke about her grief was beautiful! every time the historical aspect of this book came up, though, i felt like i was at a party and being held hostage in a conversation with a drunk mfa student

the narrator doesn’t really seem to care whether or not alice toklas had a horn and neither do i! so why are we here??
