So I am very disturbed by this book. He wins her in a poker game, tricks her into a strip poker game. Has sex with her (she's a virgin) so in essence he pretty much you could say he raped her. He didn't technically in the story but he did plus he is way older. If he would of gotten to know her before having sex with her. Now she's a prisoner.

That Gemma girl acts stupid and she's depressing . I hope I can finish this book. Why would you put up with your father beating you. For basically nothing. I could see if she was underage. Her parents are the worst humans.

It should be called simply stupid. I have read every catherine anderson books and this one is taking me forever to read. Its been a week, I usually finish them in a day. The girl Cassandra is like a simpleton. I just don't get it. He didn't make her his whore so why pretend he did. She had nothing before he came along a father who couldn't even feed or clothe his children and he is taking them to live in a cave.
