my confusion rlly clouded my understanding of the story bc it has the same characters as the previous story but not exactly the same lore. however, this tale as a standalone is excellent and as relevant as ever. by the end, i just decided to see this + the book as a multiverse of stories.

cute little story, but ends abruptly.

what a ride. funny ending. i loved keiichi’s rant! what might seem abhorrent to one person is glorious to another. as humans, there’s importance in being able to respect each other no matter how each of us grew up. the same goes with opinions and tastes. “right” and “wrong” doesn’t truly matter… everyone is entitled to what they believe in.

interesting start to the book! i think the world of the story is very fascinating. bc there totally could be a world somewhere in the multiverse where this is happening, ya know? how societal opinion and human perspective is shaped; how death is not actually viewed as the end, but not in the way you’d think. the concept’s still pretty creepy tho Laughing out L

I haven’t properly read a graphic novel in years. And my youngest brother has been begging me to read his. And I’m so glad we have the whole Dog Man series lol

I stopped reading this for almost a week because I wasn't feeling myself... but thankfully I've been gifted surplus time and much motivation to pursue my goals, including reading more books this year!

I made lots of progress yesterday, reading over 100+ pages. I continued this morning and I finally remembered to update my progress here.

Jane doesn't deserve all of this crap! Neither does Celeste or Ziggy.

- continually rooting for the 3 main protagonists (Celeste, Madeline, Jane)
- is it bad that i thought jane emotionally shouting "Harry the Hippo! We've lost Harry the Hippo!" was funny?
- i can't get over the foreshadowing omg
- it kinda sucks that i know what's going to happen since i saw the show but i'm still enjoying it nonetheless, which is a good sign

Funny story: My Dearest Mama saw me reading this & thought I was reading "Little Women".

Anyways, I love how vivid the novel is compared to the show. The characters are still as lovable as ever. Ed is hilarious; a perfect fit for Madeline... unless? Oh, and the foreshadowing is GOLD.

On a side note, idk if I'll be able to finish this before next week... we shall see!

I can't believe I've actually made it past the Kindergarten orientation scene! As I go, I find myself envisioning the events as they occurred on the TV show. Especially with the same actors & actresses.

I also passed the introduction of Perry. My internal feelings are the same as when watching the show. It's crazy.

Also, is it just me or is the book more comedic?

For too long, I've repeatedly read a few chapters of this book and then dropped it the next week. Well, no more!

I truly am interested in this book since the TV series is an eternal favorite of mine. The farthest I've made it to is page 49. Let's make it all the way to page 492 this time around! 🌟

Surprisingly, the people in this book are kinda pissing me off... I still love Keiko's input + POV though. And that big convo between her & Shiraha did make a point... but he just sucks as a person.
