Alternating between reading this in hard copy and listening to the audiobook. Enjoying the writing so far and the distinct voices of each POV character. It's a great premise and I look forward to seeing where it goes.

Starting to settle into this; the language takes a bit of getting used to.

Jumping back into one of my many started-but-put-down-but-not-finished-with books. Barker's imagination is on full display here, looking forward to giving this book my full focus. As an author he seems to be flying under the radar a bit, given his highly respected status in horror and fantasy.

Austen's characterisations and wit are so cheeky!

Proving surprisingly easy to read for being 150 years old! One more sitting should do it. It's only a little book and despite some dense paragraphs, the story rolls along nicely.

A bit more immersed again. Events seem to be coming together, the calm before the storm. Expecting a few big sequences before the end!

I'm enjoying it, but some parts are a slog. Kruppe is written to be annoying.

I'm enjoying this more this time around. The scale of Erikson's worldbuilding is obvious from the beginning and his imagination for the different places and characters is great fun to follow. Crone might be my favourite character so far.

One drawback is that the POV changes very frequently, and with little linking them, so momentum gets completely halted a lot. I know it will come together though.

My third time of trying with this one - I have the Kindle edition and Audible for maximum newborn-parent-proofness. I've tried and struggled twice, but didn't hate it either time, just got a bit stuck and found other shiny new books that pulled my attention. Enough people love this series and say the books come together at the end that I am giving it another go.

Started yesterday afternoon and found this easy to drop into. I really like how fast the creepy things start happening in this book - it often seems to take a good third of the book before spooky hauntings occur, but Hill gets right into it.

Listening to this on Audible. I'm in Chapter 19, enjoying the building atmosphere and the dynamics of the friendship group. Arthur is a decent main character, if a little passive, but perhaps that is the point so far.

Probably won't finish this until I've read more of ASOIAF. Enjoyable, but secondary to the main event, IMO.

I've recently completed my mission of acquiring pristine/near-pristine second-hand copies of all the books in ASOIAF (maybe a photo at some point) - each for £2.49 other than this, a beautiful Folio Society edition of the one that started it all. I did get it from a second-hand shop and at a discount, but it was brand new.

I've read this before but find Martin's writing very easy on the eye regardless.
