Wait a damn minute… is the wife across the street… the elderly widow? Is that the twist? Did the widow, insane from years of isolation and loneliness, manifest and project her memories onto “new neighbours” across the street? 🚬🫩

Goooooolly does this old woman love to yap and yap and yap. There’s only so much I can read about tea, staring out the window and the hyper-detailed, mundane dialogue of an elderly widow harping on about her ailments and loneliness before I can’t do it anymore. Get to the point already.

Authors curt, brisk style of writing is finally paying off. Quick progression through the storyline which has begun to become very interesting, and very progressively dark.

You see this 🤏🏻 this right here is how close I am to ripping my damn hair out. I’ve tried to read this book so many times already. I don’t know what the hell it is, but I can’t ever seem to get past a few pages.

I’ll read five pages, then make a coffee.
Another five pages, I’ll take a smoke break.
Another five pages, I’m checking the length of my finger nails and wondering if they need a trim.

First Junji Ito book, and heard it was the crème de la crème of his work as it was compiled of the authors favourite stories that he had written over the decades.

Marionette mansion and hanging blimp are my favourite so far.

Haven’t even touched the surface and I’m in love with this author already 🥺🖤🖤

LISTEN!! A characters description is not a summary!!
Saying the H is dark, brooding and sexy does not tell me shit about your book. It’s repelling and amateur and completely lazy. If as an author you won’t take time to write an interesting summary, I’m not taking my time to read your book.
Now look at us. Both wasting time. Jesus
